Money Wire and Beads Earrings jewelry making project step 9
Step 9

Step 9:  In the picture at left it is hard to see the wire tail as it is perpendicular to the rest of the earring body, pointing at the viewer.  Next make sure that you have positioned your beads correctly, one in each semi-circle.  Now grasp the wire below the loop and on the wire that you just bent 90 degrees with your pliers, and wrap the wire tail around the wire below the loop about 2 or 3 times.  This wrap sets the shape of the piece.

Step 10:  Using a 3 inch segment of 24 gauge wire, wrap the wire around the intersection where the 20G wire crosses itself as shown at left.

Step 11:  Add your earring body to your ear wire finding.  For the two earrings at left you can see that I used two different types of ear wires -- on the left a post ear wire with ball and on the right a locking kidney shaped ear wire.  I actually prefer the post ear wire with the ball, but I ran out of this finding

Alternative Configuration:  This earring body can be made with two 5/8", 1/2" or even 3/8" Super Pegs.  All three sizes make very nice earrings.  If your personal style is delicate, try the 3/8" Super Pegs and consider 4mm beads instead of 6mm.
