Please
view the two earring designs at right. This jewelry making project
will describe how to make both variations of this design. In this
project, we tried two different ways to achieve a slightly greater
spacing between the rows in the earring body. In the design
near-right, we used regular 1/16" Delphi/Centaur pegs to make the loops
in the two wire components that make up the earring body and we used
figure 8 connectors that were slightly larger (made on the second step
on our step jaw pliers.) In the earrings far-right, we used 3/32"
pegs to make the loops in the wire components. You can accomplish
this by using Cross-over Pegs on your WigJig Delphi or Centaur, or by
using regular pegs on your WigJig Olympus or Olympus-Lite. With
the larger loops in the wire components, we used normal sized figure 8
connectors, made on the first step in our step jaw pliers, to connect
the rows of components. Please note that the design with larger
Figure 8 Connectors is longer than the design with normal Figure 8
Connectors and larger loops in the earring body.
There are three wire components that make up the body of these earrings. The top wire component connects the earring body to the ear wire finding and has the larger 3/16" loop at the top. The middle wire component will be called the "W" wire component because it is in the shape of the letter "W". The bottom wire component will be called the "V" wire component because it is in the shape of the letter "V". In making these earrings, we will need to make one top wire component, three "W" wire components, and one "V" wire component for each earring. Our instructions for making these components begins on the next page. Considering that we make these earrings with a "V" and several "W"
wire components, you can see the reason for naming them VW Beaded
Chandelier Earrings. Obviously, the choice of this name has
nothing to do with the German automobile maker. We hope you like
our VW Beaded Chandelier Earrings. We think that this is a design
that would sell at jewelry shows. |
