Double 8's Jewelry Wire Bracelet -- Jewelry Making Project -- Page 1

Last month we made a bracelet that we called Crazy 8's.  This month we are going to make a bracelet that is larger than the Crazy 8's bracelet, but with individual loops that are smaller.  We call this bracelet Double 8's Jewelry Wire Bracelet because the bracelet has four loops, essentially looking like two figure 8s of wire one on top of the other. 

In the pictures shown here, we made the bracelet out of 20 gauge wire and the result is very nice.  We could also have made the bracelet out of 18 gauge wire and the result would have been bolder looking, and perhaps even nicer. 

The bracelet shown here is made to emphasize the wire work in making the bracelet.  It isn't decorated with beads.  We could have made this same bracelet with beads between the wire components and the end result would have been more colorful.  In a later page, we will try to show  some ideas for adding beads to this bracelet.  Ultimately, we plan on showing how to adapt this design to make a necklace and matching earrings.  It may take us a couple of months to get both our bracelet and earrings projects completed. 

Skills Required:

• Ability to cut wire with with a flush cutter.
• Ability to straighten wire with nylon jaw pliers.
• Ability to make a "P" Loop in wire.
• Ability to use a WigJig tool to make wire components. 
• Ability to make a figure 8 connector. 
• Ability to open and close loops to connect wire components. 
• Ability to make a clasp and catch jewelry finding.
