There is one caution about making earrings like this out of colored wire.  The dyes in the colored wire may contain carcinogenic chemicals.  It is unlikely, but possible, that wearing colored wire earrings over a prolonged period of time could cause the wearer a problem.  Please be aware of this if you decide to make earrings for pierced ears with colored wire. 

These earrings aren't the strongest earrings, but they are plenty strong for personal wear.  These earrings may not be appropriate for selling, because they can be pulled out of shape if snagged.  .
