Design: With every newsletter we provide a free jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices. This newsletter's free design is the design for the Pearls with Crystal and Semi-Precious Stones necklace. The center portion for this necklace is shown at right. This jewelry design is a bead stringing project using Soft Flex or Soft Touch bead stringing wire. The design shown at right was made with jade beads, but this design can be made equally easily with any colored beads, including other semi-precious stones or round glass crystal beads. Select either the picture or the title at right to view this jewelry making project. You can view a larger picture of this necklace here. |

Past Techniques: We maintain a techniques web page that provides links to the discussion of techniques in our prior newsletters. You can visit this web page here. Follow the links on that page to the discussion of the technique in that newsletter. You will need to scroll down to view the techniques section in each prior newsletter. |

Jewelry Technique: The badge holder wire component is made on the WigJig Olympus, Olympus Lite or Delphi using two 1/4" Super Pegs and the peg pattern shown at lower right. 4 inches of 18 gauge wire are required. Set up the pegs as shown then wrap the wire around the pegs in the sequence shown. Remove this wire component from the jig and cut the excess wire. At this point, the wire is functionally the same as the wire shown in Step 10 on our Beaded Wire Chandelier Earrings. Follow step 11 and 12 from these same directions to convert the wire component into its finished shape. You may require a figure 8 connector to connect this wire component to your badge lanyard and have the badge hang straight. You can view instructions for making a figure 8 connector here. |
