Free Jewelry Design:
With every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices.  The new design for this newsletter is the design for the 2-1 bracelet and earrings shown at right.  The bracelet and earrings are an advanced beginner's jewelry making project.  They are made with 8mm round beads, 16 or 18 gauge wire, 22 gauge wire and commercial findings (clasp and ear wires).  2.5 or 3mm round metal beads were also used as decoration and for spacing.  Our instructions for making this bracelet and earring design can be viewed by selecting either the pictures or the name at right.

Past Techniques:
We maintain a techniques web page that provides links to the discussion of techniques in our prior newsletters.  You can visit this web page here.  Follow the links on that page to the discussion of the technique in that newsletter.
Jewelry Technique:
This weeks jewelry technique is a discussion of things to do to minimize tarnish in sterling silver jewelry.  We address things to do to prevent tarnish while your jewelry is being stored, additional things that can be done while your jewelry is being worn, and finally steps that can be taken while your sterling silver jewelry is being made that can reduce the tarnish in the finished jewelry item.  Topics discussed include clear top storage boxes that allow viewing the jewelry, anti-tarnish strips to minimize tarnish during storage, anti-tarnish polishing cloths that reduce tarnish while the jewelry is being worn, and finally wire with anti-tarnish coatings.  Select either the picture or the text at right to view our suggestions for minimizing tarnish in your sterling silver jewelry.
