WigJig News:

This week we have a guest contributor to our newsletter.  Judy Zedalis of Florida tells us that was searching for a hobby and found our web site.  She says she fell in love with our web site and has not stopped trying the different techniques since she found it.     Judy was kind enough to provide us a couple of samples of her designs.  You can view two of Judy's designs here.  Judy sells her jewelry and contributes 25% of the proceeds of these sales to the hurricane relief.  Judy also indicates that she will be happy to provide information on how to make these pieces to anyone who e-mails her.  If you would like to purchase pieces or get information on how she made these pieces please e-mail her at jzedalis@tampabay.rr.com.  Our thanks go to Judy for sharing these designs with us.  Judy has more designs to share and we will publish these in our next newsletter.

Marcia's Earrings Jewelry Making Project Close-Up ViewFree Jewelry Design:
With every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices.  The new design for this newsletter is the design for the earrings shown at right.  We call these Marcia's Earrings because the design was suggested by Marcia Wiggins of Cape Elizabeth, Maine (our sister).  These are an advanced beginners jewelry making Marcia's Earrings Jewelry Making Project Alternative Designproject.  These earrings can be made on any WigJig and use 16 gauge wire for the two square wire components and 18 or 20 gauge wire for the connectors that connect the components. As you can imagine, the pattern for these earrings is merely four regular metal pegs in a square.  We also have an alternative design for these earrings with a third square wire component.  These earrings hang as a three dimensional design with the middle square being perpendicular to the other two.

Past Techniques:
We maintain a techniques web page that provides links to the discussion of techniques in our prior newsletters.  You can visit this web page here.  Follow the links on that page to the discussion of the technique in that newsletter.

Jump Ring Jewelry Making FindingJewelry Technique:
This weeks jewelry making technique is a new page of instructions on how to make jump rings using step jaw pliers.  You can view on open jump ring at right.  This Making a Jump Ring Jewley Making Fingingtechnique involves making a coil of about 1 3/4 wraps of wire around one of the steps in the jaws of the step jaw pliers.  To complete the jump ring you need to cut the initial 1/8" of straight wire off the coil.  You finish the jump ring by making a second cut at the point where the wire begins to overlap.

To view our instructions on how to make and open jump ring connectors please select here or any of the pictures above.
