WigJig News:No Jewelry Making Designs, Just Flowers!
During the week of June 2nd to June 8th we will be moving our warehouse.  During this period, orders received will take about 4-5 business days longer than normal for shipping. This would mean that an order destined for the West Coast could take up to two weeks for delivery.  We are sorry for this additional delay, but we are really looking forward to our new warehouse.

We are still experiencing spring time in Maryland and our next set of azaleas is now in bloom.  We have added some pictures of flowers to our flower page.  There are no jewelry making pictures here, just pictures of flowers.  Please select here to view the flowers.  Happy Spring!

We have three new findings in our inventory.  These findings are for setting our man-made and simulated gemstones.  Please select any picture below to view these findings in our Internet store.

Free Jewelry Design:
Tiered Raindrop Earrings Jewelry Making ProjectTiered Raindrop Earrings Jewelry Making ProjectWith every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices.  The new design for this newsletter is the design for the Tiered Raindrop Earrings Shown here.  These earrings are very similar to our Falling Raindrop Earrings that we described earlier and can be made on any of our WigJig tools; but it does require a 3/4" Super Peg or a Spiral Maker.  This is an advanced beginners jewelry making project.  If you are comfortable wrapping wire around itself to fix the shape of a wire component, then you will be able to easily complete this design.   To view our instructions for how to make this jewelry item please select here or select either picture at right.
Past Techniques:
We maintain a techniques web page that provides links to the discussion of techniques in our prior newsletters.  You can visit this web page here.  Follow the links on that page to the discussion of the technique in that newsletter.

Jewelry Technique:
How to Make a Round Runway Earring Jewelry Making DesignThis weeks jewelry making technique is a discussion of how to use our new Larger Round Super Pegs to make very large circular wire components.  The earrings shown at right were made on our new 2" Larger Round Super Peg and are shown pretty close to their actual size.

Many people have tried making larger circular shapes using our round jigs and many pegs.  This technique unfortunately usually results in a many sided object instead of a circle.  In fact, because of the large size of this circle, we recommend that after you first make the circle on your jig, that you remove the circle and the Larger Round Super Peg and replace the circle on the Super Peg and hammer the wire lightly with a nylon hammer or a rawhide hammer to help shape the wire.  Hammer the wire for the entire circumference of the circle with the exception of the loops.  The end result is a circle that is almost perfectly round.

Nostalgia Corner:
Wrapped Link Bracelet Jewelry Making ProjectThis weeks featured design in our Nostalgia
Corner is the design for our Spiral Diamond Necklace shown at left.  This is one of our favorite necklace designs because it is simple, elegant and incorporates a yoke component that makes it unique.  This is a relatively easy to make necklace, but it does look best when made using one of our round jigs.  The pattern for the Spiral Diamond wire component shown in the center of this necklace is made using a 30 degree angle.  The 30 degree angle is available using a round peg pattern jig, but not using a jig with a square peg pattern.  This 30 degree angle is more aesthetically pleasing than if we made this component using a 45 degree angle on a jig with a  square peg pattern.

Please select here, or select the picture at left to view our instructions for making the Spiral Diamond Necklace.
