WigJig News:

Warehouse move.  Fortunately, the move of our warehouse is completed and things are beginning to settle down.  We are back to shipping our orders on the business day after the business day that we receive them.  Our new warehouse is in the North-East so our customers in New England will notice shorter shipping times.  Unfortunately, our customers in the mid-West will notice longer shipping times.  Our new warehouse is sending an e-mail confirmation when they ship each order, and this confirmation will include the tracking number for that shipment.  This is definitely our best news. Two Tier Cobalt Chandelier Earrings Jewelry Making Project

Newsletter schedule.  During the summer we are going to cut back to one newsletter per month.  This will be our newsletter for June, we will send another newsletter in July and a single one in August.  During September, we will be back to sending a newsletter every two weeks.

Classes in the West Coast.  From August 10 to 13th, Gary Helwig will be in Sonoma, CA holding classes at the Soft Flex/Bead Unique Glass Art & Bead Festival.  Gary will be giving two beginners classes, two classes on the Deluxe Duplex Bracelet shown below and two chandelier earring classes (See the earrings at right).  You can view information on these classes here.  Gary will not be doing demonstrations at the bead show, although Soft Flex will be selling our WigJig tools at this show.

New Findings.  We have added some new findings to our internet store.  These findings can be seen below, larger than life.  On the left is our new snap-set lever back earring setting.  In the center is our round bezel setting to be used as a pendant on a chain and on the right is our round bezel setting with loop that we use to make earrings.

Free Jewelry Design:
Tie Chain with Bling Jewelry Making ProjectWith every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices.  The new design for this newsletter is the design for the Tie Chain with Bling shown at right.  This design uses one of our new round bezel findings to set an 8mm gemstone into a tie chain.  This is perhaps the perfect gift for the man who has everything.  We suggest that you consider a tie chain with his birthstone like the emerald (May) shown at right.  You can also go with the always popular simulated diamond (White CZ) for the fat cat who wants to show some bling.   We really like this jewelry making project for someone who wears ties.  Is it too early to start getting ready for Christmas?

This tie chain is made with 9 inches of 18 gauge 1/2 hard wire and 4 inches of 22 gauge 1/2 hard wire.  It could also be made with less expensive soft wire.  The WigJig Centaur or Delphi with one 1/4" Super Peg was used to make the button holder wire component that is central to the tie chain.   To view our instructions for how to make this jewelry item please select here or select the picture above.

Past Techniques:
We maintain a techniques web page that provides links to the discussion of techniques in our prior newsletters.  You can visit this web page here.  Follow the links on that page to the discussion of the technique in that newsletter.

Jewelry Technique:
Round Bezel Earrings Jewelry Making TechniqueThis weeks jewelry making technique is a discussion of four new ten minute jewelry making projects Lever Back Gemstone Earrings Jewelry Making Techniqueusing our new findings and some man made gemstones or CZs.  One of our favorites is the round bezel with loop earrings shown at right.  (Presently we only have the round bezel with loop finding available in sterling silver and not gold-filled as shown, but we are working hard to get this item in gold-filled.)  Another of our new 10 minute projects is our lever back earrings shown at left.  To say that these lever back earrings are a 10 minute project is perhaps wasting 8 minutes.  If it takes you more than two minutes to make these earrings you are doing something wrong.  Finally, we also have a 10 minute chain/pendant jewelry making project.  This project shows how to complete a simple chain to hold a pendant.  Please select either picture to visit the instructions for that jewelry making project or select here.  Be certain to visit both pages 6 and 7 to view all four new projects.

Nostalgia Corner:
Flemish Spiral Bracelet Jewelry Making ProjectThis weeks featured design in our Nostalgia
Corner is the design for our Flemish Spiral Bracelet shown at left.  This is one of our favorite bracelet designs because it is simple, elegant and incorporates a centerpiece that was the initial wire component we made on our jigs.  We call that piece a Flemish Spiral although, we really don't know why it's called that.  Many people have seen this bracelet on the DIY channel in an episode called "Here Come the Brides".  This bracelet uses two 1/4" Super Pegs and two regular metal pegs and can be made on any of our jigs.  The bracelet shown at left was made with Swarovski Violet 6mm round beads.

Please select here, or select the picture above left to view our instructions for making the Flemish Spiral Bracelet.
