Free Jewelry Design:
3 Strand Beaded Bracelet Jewelry Making Project Made with Pearl BeadsWith every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices.  The new designs for this newsletter are the designs for the two 3 strand beaded bracelet shown at right and below.  This bracelet uses Soft Flex Bead Stringing Wire to string three strands of beads and uses wire components made on our WigJig tools to hold the strands in place as a "spacer bar" jewelry making finding and to connect the three strands to a regular clasp.

3 Strand Beaded Bracelet Jewelry Making Project Made with Pearl and Amethyst Beads.

The bracelet uses 18 gauge 1/2 hard wire for the wire components on either end and uses 20 gauge 1/2 hard wire for the spacer bars in the middle of the bracelet.  These bracelets can be made on any of our WigJig tools using 6 regular metal pegs for that tool.  Because this project uses bead stringing wire, crimp beads and crimping pliers are also required.

This bracelet is designed to be made with about 90 4mm beads and 60 size 11 seed beads.  In the future we will show other multi-strand designs that can be made with 4mm, 6mm or 8mm beads.

The pearl beads used in the two bracelets above were items that were returned to us by a former customer.  We frequently use returned items for our jewelry making projects.  Unfortunately, it seems that the customer who returned these beads decided to keep 10 of the 100 beads in one package thinking that we wouldn't notice.  Fortunately, we did notice and didn't return the beads to our warehouse.  Since we only needed 90 4mm beads to complete the bracelet, we happened to have the correct number of beads available.  Having the right number of these beads at the same time that we had the inspiration to make these bracelets was just our good luck.

Jewelry Technique:
This weeks jewelry making technique is a discussion of how to use ear threads to make earrings.  Ear threads are a special type of ear wire finding and can be used to turn unique beads into special earrings.    Ear threads are made of a short segment of 21 or 22 gauge wire soldered to a length of about 3" of commercial chain with an open jump ring on the end of the chain opposite the length of wire.  Making unique earrings out of ear threads is very easy as it is just a matter of attaching a bead dangle to an open jump ring.  Please select the picture at right or this text here to visit our instructions for making earrings using ear thread jewelry making findings.

Nostalgia Corner:
3 Loop Beaded Earrings Jewelry Making Project
This weeks featured design in our Nostalgia Corner is the design for our 3 Loop Earrings shown at left.  This earring was chosen because making the earring is so similar to the steps involved in making the end components on our 3 Strand Bracelet, our new jewelry design for this newsletter.  If you can make these earrings you should be able to make the bracelet and vice versa.

Please select here, or select the picture at left to view our instructions for making the 3 Loop Earrings.
