SpokesDog Boomer for Beads, Jewelry Tools and Jewelry Making Supplies by WigJig Web SiteWigJig News -- AKA Boomer Sez:

Our Spokesdog:  If an insurance company can have a gecko, we have decided that we can have a spokesdog.  Boomer, shown at right, is our spokesdog.  If you select Boomer's picture at right, you will be able to view Boomer at work.

How to Unsubscribe:  If you signed up for our newsletter and then decided you don't want to receive it any more, the proper way to unsubscribe is to select the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every newsletter e-mail or to follow our sign up link above.  On that sign up page we also provide a way for people to unsubscribe.

8mm Blue Zircon GemstoneBirthstone for December:  The birthstone for December is the Zircon.  The natural color for zircons is colorless, brown or yellow-golden.  Blue zircon's are essentially unheard of in nature, but can be made by heating naturally occurring colorless or brown zircons.  In our WigJig store, we sell man-made blue zircon gemstones, made of the same zirconium silicate material.  Zircons have a Mohs hardness scale hardness of 7.5 which makes them as hard as most silicate dust and for that reason may not be a good choice for a ring that would be worn every day.

Also, we now have three jewelry making kits that contain our man-made blue zircons and are excellent gift ideas for someone born in December.  You can view these new kits below.  All three kits are suitable for beginners.  Please select any picture below to view that kit in our Internet store including links to our free instructions for assembling that kit.  You can visit WigJig Video University, described below to view a free video on how to make this "Bling" jewelry.

Andrea Valerie Ngo Earrings made with jewelry wire and beads.Guest Contributor:  We have a new vendor team in the Philippines who are selling our WigJig tools.  The team is made up of Lynette de Ocampo and Andrea Valerie Ngo.  Lynette can be reached via e-mail at lyn1977@yahoo.com and Andrea can be reached via e-mail at avn1984@gmail.com.  Andrea was kind enough to send us a couple of pictures of her jewelry made on our WigJig tools.  You can see these pictures at right and below.  Boomer sez thank you to both Andrea and Lyn.

Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings Jewelry Making Project Free Jewelry Design:
With every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices.  The new design for this newsletter is the design for the Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings shown at right.  We named them Sword earrings because of the resemblance to the shape of the Roman Gladius sword.

This is a beginner's jewelry making project and can be made on any of our WigJig tools.  For the earrings shown at right, we used 6mm and 8mm cloisonné beads separated by 2mm gold filled beads.  These earrings are rather easy to make and are a good way to display interesting beads.

To view our instructions for how to make these Sword Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings select here, or select the picture above.

Past Techniques:
We maintain a techniques web page that provides links to the discussion of techniques in our prior newsletters.  You can visit this web page here.  Follow the links on that page to the discussion of the technique in that newsletter.

Spiral Link Earrings Jewelry Making Project with Wire and BeadsJewelry Technique:
This week's jewelry making technique is a video on how to use our WigJig Spiral Maker to make spirals out of soft 18 and 20 gauge jewelry wire.  You can view this video on the You Tube web site by selecting here.    Viewing on the You Tube site will download and play faster that viewing the video on our web site for the simple reason that the video is provided at a lower resolution on the You Tube site.

You can also view our text and still picture instructions for making a spiral by selecting the picture of the earrings shown at right.  In our text and still pictures we show a slightly more advanced approach to making a spiral in jewelry wire using one of our WigJig tools and the associated Spiral Maker.  We really believe that the best way to learn a skill like making a spiral is by the combination of both the video and the text and still pictures.

Nostalgia Corner:
Wrapped Link Wire and Beads Bracelet Jewelry Making ProjectThis week's featured design in our Nostalgia Corner is the design for our Wrapped Link Jewelry Wire and Beads Bracelet shown at right.  In this project, we make a link using jewelry wire that looks as if it were cast.  This project works best with 22 gauge wire, but will also look good when made with 20 gauge wire.  1/2 hard wire will be best for making the links shown here.  The wrapped links in this bracelet are connected one to another using wrapped bead links.  If you have some nice glass crystal beads and about 45 inches of 22 gauge 1/2 hard wire, you might want to make this bracelet.  This jewelry making project is suitable for advanced beginners who are comfortable making wrapped bead links.

Please select here, or select either picture above to view our instructions for making our Wrapped Link Jewelry Wire & Beads Bracelet Project shown here.

Warning! Joke Follows.
This is only a joke.  We tell jokes because we are in favor of smiling, laughing and being happy.  This does not mean that we are opposed to anyone or anything.

If you have ever in your entire life been offended by any joke  -- please skip the below paragraphs.  It is not our intention to offend anyone!  We don't write these jokes, we only re-tell jokes that we have heard on the public radio, television or over the Internet.

Boomer Humor:

This joke was contributed by Carol VanHoosier who heard the joke and thought it sounded like we would like it.  We did and she agreed to allow us to share the joke.

An elderly couple are in court.  It turned out the wife got distracted when checking out her groceries from the super market and accidentally left without paying for a couple of items.  The security folks at the super market noticed this and alerted the police.  Ultimately, the wife was brought before the judge who says to the lady, "I understand you are guilty of shoplifting a can of carrots.  Since there are five carrots in a can, I am considering giving you five days in jail.  Can you tell me what you have to say for yourself?"  At this, the husband interrupts the proceedings and says to the judge "Your honor, I'd like to point out that she also took a can of peas."

Boomer sends a big doggie kiss to Carol for sharing her joke with us.  For our readers who may not remember, Boomer's roommates, Gary and Suzanne will celebrate their 36th wedding anniversary this month.  Gary says that the secret to staying married so long is that each week they go out for some drinks and entertainment.  Suzanne goes on Mondays and Gary goes on Fridays.
