How to Unsubscribe: If you signed up for our newsletter and then decided you don't want to receive it any more, the proper way to unsubscribe is to select the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every newsletter e-mail or to follow our sign up link above. On that sign up page we also provide a way for people to unsubscribe. Follow-up to Caution to International Travelers: In our last newsletters we cautioned International travelers about the negative consequences of being hospitalized in a country where the average citizen does not speak their language. In response to this newsletter, Cherri Bonner, one of our newsletter subscribers informed us of a company that has a relatively inexpensive solution to this problem. The Company is called MedjetAssist and their web site is http://www.medjetassist.com. This company will insure an individual or a family for a single trip or for a full year of travel. The rates are relatively inexpensive when compared with the consequences and we recommend this service for anyone travelling for any distance outside their home country. Our thanks to Cherri for pointing this firm out to us. We intend to use them.
Lou Powers also recommended travelling with a dictionary or electronic
translator whenever you travel outside your home country. We also
believe that this is an important item. If Boomer's Mom had had a
dictionary,
she would have been better able to communicate in Japan and better able to assist
Boomer's grandma.

Design:With every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices. The new design for this newsletter is the design for our Triangle Jewelry Wire & Beads Earrings shown at right. This earring design is a beginner's project. Our instructions for making this design are slightly more detailed to help a beginner with this project. One of the concepts of this design is that we have combined several very simple wire components to make a more complex shape. We could make this same shape with one piece of wire, but that would be an intermediate jewelry project. By combining four simple components we are able to make this relatively complex shape consistently and in a repeatable manner with steps that most beginners should be able to follow. This design can be made on any of our WigJig tools. It is made of one wire component that is made in the shape of a triangle, with three regular pegs and two wire components that we call spacer bars that are made using two regular pegs. These earrings can be made with 18 or 20 gauge wire, but for beginners, we recommend using 20 gauge wire. We hope you like this design. Past Techniques: We maintain a techniques web page that provides links to the discussion of techniques in our prior newsletters. You can visit this web page here. Follow the links on that page to the discussion of the technique in that newsletter.
Jewelry Technique:
Frequently, when you are making a wire component on one of our WigJig jewelry making tools, you will end up cutting excess wire from the end of the component. When you make this cut, it is easy to cut slightly more than required, with the result being a loop that has a small gap. It is always a good idea to close this gap, as it might snag on your clothes, or it may allow a component that is connected to that loop to break free. Please select here or select the picture above-right to view our free instructions for using bent closing pliers.
One error that many beginners to making jewelry make is to try to make the design that they like the best as their first jewelry project. Unfortunately, this often means that people try to make a project that is too complex for their skills. This can result in frustration and ultimately quitting the jewelry making hobby. To help mitigate this potential error, we have gone back to our Earrings, Bracelets, and Necklace project pages and added a letter code that indicates whether the project is suitable for beginners (B), for advanced beginners (AB), or for intermediate wire workers (I). You can view these three pages of jewelry designs by selecting the links below:
Warning! Joke Follows. If you have ever in your entire life been offended by any joke -- please skip the below paragraphs. It is not our intention to offend anyone! We don't write these jokes, we only re-tell jokes that we have heard on the public radio, television or over the Internet. Boomer Humor: A guy is in line at a super market waiting to pay for his groceries and he strikes up a conversation with the attractive women standing behind him in the line. During the conversation she calmly says to him "I think you are the father of one of my children." This leaves the man perplexed and he responds, "Holy cow! Are you that stripper from my bachelor party that I had sex with on the pool table with everyone watching?" The lady responds, "No." The guy then asks "Are you that college student that I met on the beach, where we made love in the surf?" The lady responds, "No." The guy then asks "Are you that girl from my High School, were we made love under the bleachers during a football game?" The lady responds "No, I believe that I am your son's English Teacher." Announcements: Shipping Policy.
