When trying to select a jewelry making jig, one thing to compare is the size of the pieces that the jewelry making jig makes.  The pieces shown at right made in brass wire were made on the WigJig Olympus or Olympus-Lite jewelry tools, while the pieces made in purple wire were made on the WigJig Delphi jewelry tool.  The peg pattern used to make these pieces is shown below left for the Olympus or Olympus-Lite jewelry tools and below right for the Delphi jewelry tool.  Three patterns are shown for the WigJig Delphi below-right.  Pattern 3 is approximately the same size as the horizontal/vertical pattern shown at left in the Olympus Lite picture below left.  Pattern 2 for the Delphi is the about the same size as the diagonal pattern for the Olympus-Lite shown on the right below.  Pattern 1 for the Delphi is smaller than any wire component that can be made on the Olympus or Olympus-Lite

There are two things to note in the pieces shown above.  First, it should be obvious that the jewelry making pieces made on the Olympus or Olympus-Lite jewelry tools are 25% larger than the same piece made on the Delphi jewelry tool.  Second, it should also be clear that the pieces made using the same peg pattern, but positioned on the diagonal for the same jewelry making jig, are about 70% of the size of the same piece when made using a horizontal/vertical pattern.  With the Olympus, Olympus-Lite or Delphi jewelry tools you can make smaller wire components by using the diagonal for your peg placement. 

All three jewelry making jigs shown above have the ability to make figures with parallel pegs as shown above and the ability to make figures with angles of 45 degrees or 90 degrees. 

The general conclusion is that for smaller and more delicate shapes using parallel rows of pegs, or angles of 45 degrees or 90 degrees choose the WigJig Delphi jewelry tool.  For making larger and bolder components with parallel rows of pegs or angles of 45 degrees or 90 degrees choose a WigJig Olympus or Olympus-Lite jewelry tools

The jewelry making pieces shown at right made in brass wire were made on the WigJig Electra jewelry tool, while the pieces made in purple wire were made on the WigJig Cyclops jewelry tool.  The peg pattern used to make these pieces is shown below left for the Electra and below right for the Cyclops.

For the Christmas tree jewelry wire component shown above, it should be obvious that the Cyclops jewelry tool makes smaller and more delicate patterns and the Electra jewelry tool makes larger and bolder patterns.  The Electra uses the same 3/32" pegs that were used with the Olympus and Olympus-Lite jewelry tools.  The Cyclops uses the smaller 1/16" pegs that are used with the Delphi jewelry tool. 

With both of the jewelry making jigs shown above, this pattern could be made larger by spacing the pegs further apart, or could be made at different angles rather than the 60 degree angle chosen here. 

Neither the Electra nor the Cyclops jewelry tools can make patterns like the pattern shown for the Delphi and Olympus jewelry tools with parallel rows of pegs. 

The general conclusion is for smaller and more delicate components requiring angles other than 45 degrees or 90 degrees choose a WigJig Cyclops jewelry tool.  For larger and bolder components requiring angles other than 45 degrees or 90 degrees choose a WigJig Electra jewelry tool. 

WigJig Centaur or Centaur Lite Jewelry Making Tool:

Finally, we have our WigJig Centaur jewelry tool which has the square peg pattern and smaller peg of the WigJig Delphi, and 1/2 of the round peg pattern of the WigJig Cyclops.  For making jewelry wire components the WigJig Centaur jewelry tool will probably be the most versatile and flexible single jewelry making jig.  To get absolutely the most capability without regard to price, a combination of the WigJig Delphi and the WigJig Cyclops jewelry tools may be the best and most capable combination of two jewelry making jigs for making jewelry out of jewelry wire.
